18 Months

I can’t believe you are 18 months old!

The time seems to have flown by and before you are two you will have a sister! Your Daddy is so thrilled we are having another girl. He says it’s another addition to “Team Daddy” which is currently just you and Daddy, Mummy is not allowed to be a member!

Your speech is really coming on, you are now saying two and three words together at once, my favourite combination so far has to be “Kiss Mummy” and I would imagine Daddy’s is “Kiss Daddy” this is because they are requests for kisses and usually we have to beg you for kisses my independent girl!

You have developed a habit of hitting other people or objects when you are frustrated or told No, or even just because they are in your way. Daddy and I really don’t like this so you are being told off a lot; I just hope its sinking in!

On the flip side you are happy smiley and giddy, lots of fun to be around, everything is a game and hilarious to you which makes it very difficult to shout at you when you give me that grin I just melt.

I have a feeling your sister who we have decided to call Libby is going to follow in your footsteps when she gets here and I will have double trouble on my hands, you will be an awesome sister and I cant wait to see the relationship between you both even though I think you will be horrible to her at times just like Daddy was to Auntie Davina when they were children.

You now go to a childminder instead of a nursery, her name is Jackie and you seem to absolutely love it there, when I collect you in the evening you never want to come home!

You are climbing on everything and have started to really enjoy the park. You hate being strapped into the buggy or the car but then you quite like your highchair and cry when we take it away!

You can count! Not always in the right order and your favourites seem to be two and three but you repeat them over and over. You can identify animal noises, you know a cow moos, a dog woofs, a cat meows, a duck quacks, a snake hisses and many more, my favourite is a fish which you mouth silently but you do look funny :0)

You don’t really understand colours and shapes yet but we keep showing you, you can push the shapes into the sorter but you don’t know the shape or the colour yet just how to push it through the hole.

Its becoming obvious you understand more than we realise and there have been a couple of times where you have been trying to tell us something but we just don’t understand.

You have you own versions of words and once you realise we know what you mean you won’t try to say them properly, for example

Nana Davina

Gook Book

Gaggy Daddy

Mama Llama

You say Out instead of Up even though you could say Up first!

You will not even attempt to say your own name and you look at us as if we are stupid for asking you too.

Your dancing is amazing, you love music so much and you can really move!

You are adorable in every way and we love you to bits xxx
